BITES
1. The Green Room
This beachfront restaurant requires you to explore off the beaten path and drive down a long dirt road, and it’s totally worth it! They serve blended mango mezcalitas which is the perfect refreshment under the hot Mexican sun. Get the sashimi and crispy rice ball appetizer, you will not regret it!
2. Jazamango
Come here to watch the sunset and grab a yummy farm-to-table dinner. The food is delicious and the vibe is peaceful and relaxed.
3. Docecuarenta
This bar and cafe is located in a revamped industrial style warehouse, and they serve everything from breakfast to happy hour. Make sure to check out the way they roast their coffee beans, and maybe grab some to take home!
SIPS
1. Oystera
Order bubbles and oysters here! The building is an old sugar mill that they have beautifully restored and decorated with personality. Hang out in the garden below, get to know the history behind the building, and listen to chill music with a glass of champagne.
2. El Refugio Mezcaleria
This is a great local spot that offers mezcal tastings. The menu alone is enough of a reason to go there for a good laugh. Come here with a small crew and relish in the good times.
3. Taller 17
Best coffee in town. Don’t forget to grab a cinnamon roll too 🙂
4. Sky Lounge bar
Located on the top level of the Guaycura hotel, this is a great spot to start the evening, watching the sunset and sipping on a glass of wine.
SWIM / BEACHES
1. Cerritos Beach
Buy fresh fruit, frozen popsicles, jewelry, and much more at Cerritos beach. If you’re really looking to relax, they offer massages on the beach, and they are dreamy!
2. The Green Room
After you’re done eating at the restaurant, lay out a towel on the sand out front and go for a quick dip in the ocean. Be careful though- there are rocks and pebbles which may not feel the best beneath your feet. Walk down the beach about 1 mile to the left to swim where there are no rocks.
STAY
1. Hotel San Cristóbal
This place looks absolutely stunning and it’s right on the sand.
2. Paradero
If you’re looking for a luxe getaway tucked away in the Todos region, this is the place for you. Relax and unwind at a beautiful instagram-worthy resort.
3. Pachamama
If you’re feeling a little more adventurous but also love a luxe moment, Pachamama offers glamping yurts right on the sand. It looks beautiful!
TRAVEL TIPS WHEN TRAVELING INTERNATIONAL
If possible, arrive on Wednesday since there’s not too many people traveling that day. Getting through customs will be a breeze. Respect the locals, embrace the culture, and try to speak the language if you can! Never carry more $ than you have to. Also, don’t bring a tripod in your carry-on because it might not get past security. We learned the hard way lol.
